About Me
I am a bit of a gear head, although I still have a long way to go in the automotive world. Beyond the obvious car hobby, I love paintball, shiny objects, comedy movies, and good old fashion video games. I love to make people laugh and I am very outgoing. I probably won't go skydiving anytime soon, but I'm always looking for a friendly person.

*Rant*
As for cars: I apreciate pretty much any vehicle, but be smart about it. 26" wheels on a car with a lift kit is dangerous. Also I am HUGE on working for what I have. Everything on my car was bought and done by me (with the exception of exhaust work, I take it to the shop for that). I paid for my car in cash and on the spot, I pay all my insurance, I buy all my gas, and I worked hard for that money. Hand waxing and polishing golf carts, scrubbing toilets, janitorial work, construction, mowing the neighbors lawn, been there done that. So if you're one of those people that tells everyone you own a car just because your parents let you drive it, we might have a problem. Otherwise I'm pretty accepting, just make sure you capatalize "WET" if referring to me. It's an acronym AND a pet peeve, all rolled into one!
*End Rant*

Make sure you tell me you're from the autolog and what your username is or I probably won't ad you. I get requests from weird people all the time so I need information. Somehow I'm freinds with a girl from Indonesia, I don't remember adding her. I mean seriously, who the fuck lives in Indonesia?

General Vehicle Comments

Saturn was started when GM lost the market share to Japanese cars. In order to combat the efficient and practical import vehicles, Saturn produced 3 models of fuel efficient vehicles. The first generation single cam engine got 37 mpg and made 85hp, while the second generation SOHC made 100hp and acheived 40 mpg. Saturn engines are cast using the "lost foam process." Basically they make a mold out of styrofoam and use aluminum to displace it. If you look really closely at my block it just looks like shiny styrofoam. The reason these cars burn so much oil is because the lost foam process isn't very precise, so some engines use a quart of oil every fill up and some don't burn oil at all. I got lucky with mine, it burns 2 quarts between oil changes.

The first generation of Saturn was comprised of three cars all under the "S-Series." These cars are the wagon (SW1/SW2), the sedan (SL/SL1/SL2), and the coupe (SC1/SC2). All models could haul 5 people comfortably. The models ending with the number "2" had the performance twin-cam engine, which produced 124 hp and acheived 31 mpg. Saturns equiped with this engine are faster then most GM vehicles equiped with the GM3800 due to a superior power/weight ratio and a lower drag coefficient. The bodies are made out of plastic (so they don't rust) and are dent resistant. I can testify to that seeing as someone hit the back quarter panel of my parked car and moved it 8" to the right. All the girl did is scratch the paint on my car, but she wrecked her front bumper, front quarter panel and headlight mount.

These vehicles are VERY aerodynamic and weigh just over 2000 lbs. The fastest 1/4 mile time slip on record for one of these engines is 16 seconds naturally aspirated, they run just over 18 seconds from the factory and my car runs high 17's on the street just by changing the poorly designed air intake.

This vehicle was origionally purchased as general transportation, but I have moved towards horsepower and eco-modding (improving MPG). I fully understand that this car will never be fast, but if this car makes it to 200,000 miles with gas at $2.50 this car will be free with gas savings. She has over $1,000 into her at this point and I still have suspension work to do next year. Lowering your car improves your mpg dramatically. This is the most fuel efficient trim but it has the highest ride height out of any first or second generation Saturn, so I stand to gain a lot with a simple drop.

Vehicle Showcase
Started at 37 MPG, I now get 42-43 MPG highway. Latest average was 36 mpg on 92 octane Tom's Suprette gas.

Placed top 5 in the second car show I've ever been in, all the other ones I parked next to Angelfactory so I'll let you connect the dots on that one...

Probably one of the fastest TBI Saturn in MN, I can almost gauruntee I have over 100hp at the crank. According to my Chilton's Manual, the 85hp statistic was measured at the end of the transmission, with all accesories in tact and operating. And with exhaust, intake, and ignition work, I might even have 100hp at the wheels. But I'm not concerned about power with this car. I just wanted to have passing power so I could get out of bad situations. Most people don't think of power as a safety feature now do they?

Race wins:
1987 Chevrolet Celebrity 2.5L
1999 Honda Civic
Race losses:
2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT
"The List:"
1984 Pontiac Fiero 2M4
1997 Pontiac Sunfire SE
2008 Smart ForTwo

My car weights 2450 lbs with me and audio equipment, and runs less then an 18 second 1/4 mile. Well, that wasn't at an official drag strip but it should be within 1/2 second either way.
*DISCLAMER
I know this thing has a disclaimer but some people still whine about it so here's a second one: THIS ISN'T 100% ACCURATE. I know, hard to believe that one equation can't account for every vehicle in every condition and driver error. Don't complain to me about it, this is a ballpark program.

Future Plans
This year's list:

DONE!!!

"When I get to it" list:

1.) Grounding kit
2.) Fix window regulator
3.) Strut tower brace
4.) Shocks and springs all around
5.) MSD ignition coils
6.) Re-gasket the entire engine

I've decided to skip getting an MSD Ignition, and I'm pretty iffy on wheels.
-Drivers side window needs to be pushed up to close all the way, and I honestly don't have a clue how to fix it or where to get the part(s).
-Strut tower brace... I NEED HELP ON THIS ONE! I can not find one ANYWHERE for my car, if you can PLEASE send me a link.
-Springs are coming next year, I gotta save up for them. Considering I have to get a $100 alignment too this could take some time.

I went cruisin down to the cities today. I have to work tomorrow then going to hang out with some friends. The helmets aren't actually mine, so I don't think I can borrow them out for a long period of time. If I could go, I would've brang them, but I can't. I would think that you could rent them from someone at the drag strip though. ATV helmets at gander mountain are $65, if you wanted one of your own.
